Dr. Taghrid Altoos is a compassionate and accomplished physician partner at Premier Cancer Center, where she is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, patient-centered cancer care. Deeply committed to her calling, Dr. Altoos approaches each patient as an individual, taking the time to listen, understand, and offer support beyond clinical treatment. Her patients often describe her as family, a reflection of the personal, enduring relationships she builds throughout their care journey. She is honored to serve the Clearwater and Greater Tampa, FL communities and finds joy in celebrating life's milestones with her patients long after treatment ends.
Dr. Altoos earned her medical degree with honors from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society in recognition of her academic excellence. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Denver, graduating summa cum laude with dual degrees in biochemistry and molecular biology. Dr. Altoos completed her radiation oncology residency at Loyola University Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. During her training, she contributed to research in several key areas of cancer care, including head and neck, breast, lung, gastrointestinal, and prostate cancers.
Dr. Altoos brings a strong academic foundation and clinical insight to her work with experience in treating a wide range of cancers using advanced radiation therapy techniques. Known for her attentive care and clear communication, Dr. Altoos works closely with each patient to guide them through treatment with empathy and expertise. Outside of her clinical practice, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her family, and contributing to community service efforts whenever she can.
Dr. Altoos and the entire staff were wonderful. They made a difficult situation easier and less scary. They also were able to work around my schedule so I could get my treatments without upending my entire day. I would highly recommend this practice!
Dr. Altoos, Dr. Gauwitz, and Dr. Brooks are the best doctors in the area! I highly recommend treatments here, as you’ll receive nothing but care and compassion when entrusting any of them in your care.
My husband just finished 6 weeks of radiation. The staff and Dr. Altoos were incredible. We hope and pray that someday that there will be a cure for all and no one will need radiation but until that time comes and if God forbid you find yourself needing radiation this is the place to come. God bless them all!
Dr. Altoos is a wonderful caring physician. She answers all questions and inquiries or concerns with ease and great explanations. She's a lovely kind woman. Excellent physician and staff! - Dr. Altoos and her staff have created a very warm and supportive environment. She is an excellent physician who cares about every patient and she takes her time to make sure that you’re comfortable with your diagnosis and treatment. I’ve had 10 years of follow up with Dr.Altoos and her staff and my care has been superb.
