"I’m giving Premier Radiation Oncology Associates my highest rating because their doctors and staff were above and beyond my expectations (especially considering what I went through with other facilities for the next 1.5 years dealing with cancer and its side effects).My advice to others who need chemo and radiation treatments would be to choose a place like PROA for your provider. Ask questions and listen for answers, take notes, bring your health care surrogate or a friend to be with you and listen. Ask about ALL possible side effects even if they are rare. I had no idea that radiation can cause weakness in bones or exacerbate osteopenia.I had some expected side effects with radiation with some diarrhea, but having some lower back issues already, I had no idea the radiation made my bones even weaker - so much so, I broke the bones in my lower back without knowing it.I looked up how and where these breaks could happen and got my answer. The chemo and radiation killed the four tiny spots near the area around where my hysterectomy had been, but weakened my lower spine and tailbone so much that when I collapsed in my bathroom at home I broke my tailbone (sacrum) which cannot be fixed and cracked a disk in the L4-5 area that had to have surgery. I could no longer walk on my own and had to do about six months of physical therapy (in patient) at several different locations! Believe it or not, I am still in PT and need to use two canes to help me walk and stay balanced!This doesn’t change my rating for PROA at all but to warn what others may go through. …and believe it or not, I did not have very many side effects from my whole journey. Plus I would like to recommend not only PROA and its staff but give special thanks to Dr Tagrid Altoos - the best, smartest, sweetest and knowledgeable doctor of all that I’ve had on my long trip!!!…and have a talented family who can paint a bald head if necessary!!!"

"Great cancer treatment center with all the advanced treatments modalities by skilled staff and physicians. They were able to accommodate me in their very busy schedule. Always felt at ease and every one was friendly, knowledgeable and took their time to get to know you and treat you . Never rushed and answered all my questions and concerns . "My first experience was when my mom was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer that went internally.We met Dr. Altoos and our first impression was she is so friendly, attentively listened to our concerns and explained everything so we could understand.My mom had undergone many treatments for four different areas and while she was going I had my second experience when I had breast cancer in my right breast. Mom and I went together for treatments. My mom and I felt that Dr. Altoos and all the office staff, technicians and nurses and the insurance staff are our family. My third experience was just last year with having cancer in my left breast and needing radiation treatments.Speaking from experience, Dr. Altoos has a very caring heart, and very knowledgeable!! I trust her completely,and feel very blest to have found her and all the wonderful people that work there."

"I have been employed with Premier for almost 10 years. Before I worked here I sought out employment with them because of all the wonderful things I heard about the place. I love working with Dr. Altoos and Dr. Gauwitz! They are both exceptional people and doctors. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer almost 5 years ago everyone in this office stepped up to help make the best experience of the scariest of times for us. The facility is well maintained with the newest and best technology. My sister is about to be treated here. When you become a patient here you become part of the Premier family. "Dr. Altoos is the sweetest and most wonderful doctor I have ever met!!! My dad was treated there 4 years ago, my aunt was treated there within the last year and I wouldn’t recommend anywhere better for treatment! She is so loving and welcoming and reassuring through such a scary process and provides the best quality care I have ever seen! The office is absolutely beautiful and feels like home with such wonderful staff all over the office from the front desk, to the nurses, to all the doctors within you always feel welcome :) it is so clean and recently remodeled, they did a beautiful job in appearance and quality of care!
